One iteration of this system had “TOP”, “MID”, “BOT”. By changing it to simple icons, it is understandable globally. Such a good call!! There is so much that is right with VG that playing other phone-based games is painful. But when something is off, like the current UI, it’s absolutely glaring. The surrounding quality accentuates the less than ideal.
