Excoundrel responded about the timer increase on Reddit and that it reflects the patch being delayed (surprise). I mean it is a little annoying, but it does seem like they really are trying to be a but more communicative which is definitely a step in the right direction.

Saw it, didn’t need exo comments to know why the days are a lot more. 
Because the timer on weeks people assumed that they added a week , but last time before the timer increased it was 9 days then turned to 2 weeks , and if you check any team in the game you can see the spring timer and it was saying 14 days 8 hours , so they added 5 days like the last update , my guess is they did that to hit the 20/21 June which is the exact summer time , they did the same in the past but I don’t remember which update .
