I looked through the patch notes. First of all, his perk and damage really hasn’t been touched. He has gotten some speed and cc buffs. Recently he was potato af, probably the worst hero in-game. Whether or not he is good now, I can’t say. He still has a somewhat low win rate, but not monstrously low.
Not sure he is good, not a bad counter to certain hero’s (saw for instance) but nowhere near the meta. Often find he gets left hopeless exposed once he has used his A to engage at which point it’s by by grumps.

Kite with Grump.
Get CW & AS on him, max his A and C, and if you wanna be a real pain, get JBs. Put a DE, BM, and SH or CB on him to round it out and make the enemy team just…run away when they see you. His A is a massive burst dmg, combined with the fact it’s pure CP ratio, and every other attack of his is a gapcloser or an empowered basic, if you give him brokenmyth and a dragon eye, he mops up like nobody. Aftershock gets proc’ed by his B, and his B does crystal dmg. Deadly chip dmg, and gives him atacks. CW makes him run around like a maniac with his A, giving him some good safety, but for clinching those C grabs or getting away from danger? Journey boots. Grab with C run with your boots, dump em, immediately A, B, death.
And if no death? You probably have your JB up again by then, as well as your A and B are like 2 seconds away from being off cooldown. Grumpjaw as CP is a monster.

If grumpjaw was Broken he would have been nerfed but they didn’t nerf him…
grumpjaw isn’t broken, it’s just that it’s been a long time everyone forgot how to face him.
he has trouble against people who can kite or has low cooldown dashes.
he’s an earlygame hero who NEEDS to snowball to keep his presence up. yes his earlygame is monstrous, but get defense and he deals much less damage.
against grumpjaw, place vision near entrances to your lane, if you see him approach, you have to stay back. if wp buff, getting hit once will be your end.

This all the way. Skillshots & low cooldown dashes are Grumpjaw’s main counter, though he can wreck sitting skillshot heroes like Skaarf & Kestrel. I feel Grumpjaw is a little broken but only because his A’s base dmg is so high that a CP Grumpjaw can chunk a whole enemy team down to almost half health if they group up and he catches them. Not to mention the strength and duration of the slow. He can then snatch one of them up right after, and that about secures one kill while his team can clean up the rest. He’s a master diver. It’s only in late game that he actually struggles against full builds.

Well, he was put in the A+ tier by ttigers, just below krul. You build tb, as and tank and he is absolutely a pain to fight against, since he can 1v1 most heroes very well at most points of the game.
