Optimum MTU Settings

Ok, so after suffering dreaded ping and lag spikes, i head over to https://superevil.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/209271165-Connection-Tips-and-Help to see what i can do to improve my ping.

My brain is officially fried after reading up on Optimum MTU settings.

I’m using Command Prompt on windows 7…

The following is copy and pasted: I should’ve listened.

“This FAQ is for pointy headed people with no life that are just dying to get their command prompt fix and do some interesting (albeit completely boring) tests. I strongly recommend you simply do something better with your time. That said, if you wish to continue please proceed.”

To cut a long story short, the website is completely out of date, half the links don’t work and after reading all that and doing my own research, i’m no closer to understanding if “optimising my packet size” will even help.

I think not.

Typically this value will be set by your router.

If you are able to get on your router and find it, and then tweak it, you might get better performance.

Moving this thread from 6 months ago was odd enough for me :joy:

You had to scroll back far enough to respond to it …
