I knew about these electronic monitoring systems, but I never thought of comparing it to games and then calling it Gamification.
I know big warehouses run like clockwork because of these systems. but that’s the limit of my real life experience with a gamified workplace.
I like the part about “gamified systems have the potential to complicate and subvert ethical reasoning” . It’s an interesting perspective and something i haven’t thought about.
its kinda scary just how wide spread it is. A little freaky that even scooping ice cream can be turned into a game.
I don’t think I’ve ever complained about ice cream scoops being too big or small…
