So I just got up a few minutes ago and I decided to check a few new posts that piqued my interest, and when I started to like one post, a window popped up saying that I can like a few more posts. I know that it’s supposed to prevent spamming likes, but it kind of irritates me that I can only like a few more posts after I just woke up.

That’s the right way to do it, as it will really give a value of the like and it will be not spammed. Also: first post and hi! 
Don’t worry, that limit increases over time. As @cha0z says, it’s intended to encourage new users to think about the value of “likes” …
