EdAWACS Hero Rework: Malleus

Welcome to the Vainglory Hero Spotlight, today we will be looking at Malleus, a forsaken Herald of Justice that desecrates his unfortunate victims.

Once the personal knight of a benevolent princess, Malleus served his royal liege with religious devotion and worked alongside her to ensure that the kingdom was managed with justice and that corruption was weeded out.

When the Empire began its annual demands for daughters and mothers from the Kingdom. The princess decided to enact her sacrifice. She drugged Malleus into a stupor knowing that his honorable heart would see to a stop of her plans.

Malleus awoke to the news of his princess’s brave sacrifice and the end of the Empire’s demands. Anguish filled his soul as he cried out in grief, unable to bear the terrible events. Eventually, the loss of his royal liege drove the poor man insane, his mind broken.

Malleus committed unspeakable atrocities as he renounced all that was holy and divine. He was eventually executed for his heinous acts and beheaded. His body was buried in peat marsh with his deranged cries whistling in the winds.

Legends say that Malleus’s spirit has refused to pass on and now he haunts the land as a spectral warrior. He wanders from place to place, bringing judgment against those who desire punishment for their sins.


On the Rise, Malleus is a malevolent phantom who excels against high sustain targets, turning the enemy’s rejuvenation into their destruction. Able to endure negative effects while terrorizing anyone who gets in his way. Malleus can appear at a moments notice to the battlefield sowing despair and hopelessness among enemy lines.

HEROIC PERK: Desecration of the Fallen

Malleus’s ABILITIES Desecrates enemies and neutral jungle monsters, branding them for 1.3 seconds. If Malleus kills a DESECRATED enemy hero, he will heal himself based on 70% of the victim hero’s REMAINING health before their death at his hands.

  • When a Desecrated enemy receives HEALING or LIFESTEAL from any source (excluding basic health regen, item healing and healing at the base) the mark translates 75% of the Heal into Crystal damage.

FIRST ABILITY: Avatar of Malleus

Malleus sends forward a Spectral Clone of himself in the target direction dealing damage in an area around the Clone. Malleus can REACTIVE this ability within 4 seconds to switch places with his Clone to deal the same amount of damage around himself.

  • The Clone will linger for 4 seconds and basic attack with Malleus dealing 50% of his weapon damage.

  • Reactivating this ability resets Malleus’s basic attack timer.

Cooldown: 8.5s/8s/7.5s/7s/5.5s

Energy Cost: 35/45/55/65/75

Range: 7/7/7/7/ 10

Damage: 80/120/160/200/240 CP Ratio: 100% | WP Ratio: 50%

SECOND ABILITY: Repulse

Malleus charges for 2 seconds becoming IMMUNE to all CROWD CONTROL and gains fortified health while LOSING the ability to basic attack. Malleus can REACTIVATE this ability within 2 seconds to send out a spectral shockwave, dealing damage in a 6-meter wide cone in front of him, SLOWING all enemies for 0.9 seconds while losing his immunity and fortified health.

  • The damage increases by 5% for each instance of crowd control inflicted upon Malleus.

  • This ability can only be used when 2 or more enemy abilities are USED near Malleus

OVERDRIVE: Upgrades the SLOW into a FEAR!

Fortified Health: 50/150/250/350/450 CP Ratio: 50%

Malleus’s ULTIMATE is Final Judgement

ACTIVE: Malleus’s next 3 basic attacks within 5 seconds deal bonus crystal damage, gaining bonus attack range and cause him to BLINK onto his attack targets.

  • If Malleus damages Desecrated enemy heroes with his ULTIMATE, they are unable to use BLINK and TELEPORT abilities for the duration of the Desecration Brand.

Passively, when this ability is OFF Cooldown, Malleus’s empowers his sword; causing his basic attacks to deal 7% of his attack targets BONUS HEALTH as crystal damage.

To be honest if tony for example was a fan hero creation and someone put him here , he wouldn’t get replies and discussions because he is not interesting , the same for this hero , unless you give him crazy damage then people going to play him for the damage , like I feel the design doesn’t fit vainglory and the 3 abilities design , and I think we have heroes they going to be played more if semc gave them fourth ability or reworked their abilities .
