Am I simply missing it or is there no clear indication who created a thread until it’s opened? In the event I’m correct, it would nice to be able to tell that info.

Yup. It only shows the avatar of the newest one to post.
That’s on mobile … on desktop (and large screen mobile, i.e., tablets), it shows the OP as well as several recent posters:
Ok I’ll start using that tab. The main page with the latest on the right side doesn’t show it on desktop.
